As the Managing Partner of Global Professional
Services for Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS), Mr.
Patel draws on more than 25 years of international
experience in all aspects of telecommunications
and IT services to develop and deliver innovative
consulting services on behalf of Lucent. Mr. Patel
manages Lucent’s principal/practice-based Professional
Service organization to ensure that LWS delivers
the tight project discipline and innovative thinking
required to provide low-cost, high-value solutions
to service providers, enterprises, and government
clients worldwide.
Prior to joining Lucent, Mr. Patel
held a number of leadership positions with key industry
players, including CEPS Consulting Corporation,
Digital Equipment, Compaq Computer Corporation,
and HP. As Founder and President of CEPS Consulting,
Mr. Patel advised the company’s Board of Directors
about IT services and software firms. While with
Digital Equipment, Compaq Computer Corporation,
and HP, he gained valuable experience in managing
IT services and software on the world stage. During
this period, he served in a variety of roles, including:

Mr. Patel also served as the Vice Chairman for
the BrainShree Joint Venture in China.
Today, Mr. Patel participates in various professional
and community organizations, most notably the Leadership
Board of the Cullen College of Engineering at the
University of Houston. He is also currently a director
in LTIS, a subsidiary of Lucent Technologies. Previously,
Mr. Patel served as a past President of the Indo
American Chamber of Commerce in greater Houston
and as an Executive Council Member for the National
Association of Software companies in India from
1991 to 1993.
His wide-ranging experience ensures Mr. Patel has
a ready audience at industry events worldwide when
he discusses the trends shaping the service industry,
service management philosophies, and professional
service business models.
Mr. Patel holds an M.S. in Computer Science from
Boston Institute of Technology, Massachusetts.
